Ok, so actually starting making here!To enable the sheet steel to bend evenly you need to grind a groove on the inside, kind of like scoring car.3. Main Box Body: When it came to bending the box I realised it was tougher than I originally thought. I didn't want to cut away too much steel in.4. Door: I cut the door from some more 4mm sheet. its 10mm bigger all round to allow for a good seal with the rope. The fire rope was bought from E.5. Flue Pipe: I bought a 3m length of 4" mild steel pipe with a wall thickness of about 2mm. It didn't need to be massively thick as a lot of the h.6. Paint: When I had finished the stove I sprayed it with Plastikote WoodStove Paint from ebay (LINK) which is heat resistant and lasts a good few.

Feb 21, 2012· RE: 7075 aluminum wood burning stove! IRstuff (Aerospace) 16 Feb 12 14:06. 70 square meters is a rather huge area for a stove to heat up. Even if it were in the dead center of a square room, the corners of the room would be almost 6 m from the stove; it'll be even worse if it's located along an edge or in one corner.

Have you considered the effect of the difference in thermal mass from using other metals will have?Ever toss an aluminum can in a fire? There's nothing left in seconds. Oxidation will destroy your wood burner quickly. My uncle once did this in [email protected] : No , I haven't considered that; I just "went" for a material that theoretically had a good thermal transfer value and thought that was good. The zinc will boil out of the brass alloy. And any copper alloy will corrode over time due to trace sulfur in the wood. Tungsten would be a [email protected] : well, I guess that's that regarding wood burning stoves. An Alcohol Stove made from AluminumBottles There are plenty of aluminum can stove designs out there. This one is different in that it is not made from aluminum cans but rather from aluminum bottles (aluminum beer bottles to be specific) After building a few stoves myself I wanted to design one to address a few shortcomings of other can stoves: 1. . Apr 27, 2017· Aluminum foil, or tin foil, is a paper-thin, shiny sheet of aluminum metal. It's made by rolling large slabs of aluminum until they are less than 0.2 mm thick.

I would argue that it actually prevents fires as it can catch a lot of flammable debris, and when it gets dirty, it's super easy to toss out the aluminum and then just replace it with a fresh sheet. Also, it really is the only way to keep the refrigerator from reading the stove's mind.
